Minjiazhai Village, Wanggou Town, Lanshan District invited the Liuqin Opera Troupe from Lanling County to deliver a wonderful artistic performance for all the villagers in the village. Various entertaining acts such as Liuqin opera, dances, songs, suona performances, and stand-up comedy won rounds of applause from the audience present. Minjiazhai Village is the hometown of Min Ziqian, one of Confucius’ seventy-two disciples and considered the foremost example of filial piety among them. The spirit of filial virtue and integrity has been passed down to this day. Every year on the 14th day of the second lunar month, Minjiazhai Village holds commemorative ceremonies to mark the birth of the virtuous Min Ziqian, as well as spring-time cultural festivals related to Min Ziqian’s legacy, with the aim of preserving his culture of filial piety and fraternal love and promoting the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation. It is understood that this year, more than 2,000 members of the Min clan from places such as Liaoning, Heilongjiang, Shanghai, and Jiangxi attended the Minzi Cultural Festival.

Minjiazhai Village is the earliest village in Fei County’s history, and it is the settlement of the descendants of Min Ziqian. Originally named Min Zizhuang, it was later renamed Min Jiazhai. At the end of the Qing dynasty, it was renamed Tong’an Village based on the shape of the village. After the establishment of the Republic of China, it was changed back to Minjiazhai. According to historical records, Min Ziqian and his son Wo Ying lived about sixty li northeast of the town, in what is now Minjiazhai. Min Ziqian’s eldest son, Wo Ying, was buried to the south of the village. The Minzi Temple was built before the Tang Dynasty and has been restored several times since then. The characters “Dù Shèng Cí” on Zhengyangmen were written by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing dynasty.
