Our company is planning to install a new heat transfer oil furnace. We have consulted two design firms; one of them suggested that the pipes for the heat transfer oil furnace could pass through the roof, with supports installed on the roof itself, while below the roof would be the high-voltage power distribution room and the fire pump room. The other firm said this is not possible. I would like to ask those who are familiar with this topic: are there any specific regulations regarding this?

I checked some information. It can be installed on the roof, but the building must be a production facility of types D or E with fire resistance ratings of level 1 or 2. High-voltage switchgear rooms do not fall under the fire hazard classification for production and storage, as there are no production or storage processes. The fire pump room can be classified as Category E.
Go and ask the local work safety authorities; if it’s approved, then choose the method that works best for your needs.
