For example, there are three scenarios regarding the input value for the effective thickness of European standard pipe flanges SW6: 1. Is it C (but C already includes the boss height)? 2. C minus RF boss height f1? 3. For the FM face, C-f3/4, C minus the corrosion allowance; 5. For C, not only should the corrosion allowance be deducted, but also the boss height in the 2/3 case? Note: C is the flange thickness. :L
Personally, I think f1 and f3/4 should be excluded from the calculations, as this might result in a more conservative estimate
You need to understand that the flange calculations refer to those parts; it should be the thickness of the flange ring
SW6 is formulated in accordance with GB150; referring to δf in Figure 7-1 of GB150.2-2011 gives the effective thickness of the flange, excluding the boss.
The boss height should not be included, and no corrosion margin is considered for the flange ring thickness. The effective thickness of the flange’s small end should be reduced by the corrosion allowance.
The effective thickness of the flange’s large end should also have the corrosion allowance deducted from it.
