Is API 600 a standard for globe valves?

We only use API600 for gate valves, while API623 is used for globe valves

Continuing from above, before API623, API600 was often used for stop valves, merely for reference. Although API623 exists now, its specified diameter is ≥DN50.

API600 is the standard for heavy-duty gate valves, and the term \"heavy-duty\" is characterized by the following features: ① Thick valve body walls: The minimum wall thickness of the valve body is greater than that specified in the ASME B16.34 standard. ②. Full bore: To reduce fluid resistance, the bore of the valve body’s sealing seat (the minimum diameter of the flow channel) is the full bore. ③. Large valve stem: To meet the requirements of heavy loads and severe corrosion, a valve stem with a large diameter is used; the surface roughness Ra of the portion of the stem that comes into contact with the packing is ≤0.8μm, thereby ensuring sufficient axial force for opening and closing the valve and reducing corrosion at the contact area between the stem and the packing. 2. Although the standard name for API600 is heavy-duty gate valve, since API previously did not establish separate standards for heavy-duty globe valves and heavy-duty check valves (swing type) (which now exist as API623 and API594), abroad API600 is also often used as a dedicated standard for heavy-duty globe valves and heavy-duty check valves (swing type). 3.
