In “SH/T3164-2012 Code for Lightning Protection Design of Petrochemical Instrumentation Systems”, under the section on “Cable Installation and Shielding” in 11.1.1.1, it is specified that the wiring for field instruments should be installed within steel pipes or cable trays; insulated pipes shall not be used. There should be good electrical connections between the steel pipes and the instruments, between the steel pipes themselves, and between the steel pipes and the cable trays ； 11.1.2 The instrument cable tray adopts a closed steel plate structure. The tank body and all metal components must remain electrically continuous throughout ； 11.2.2.2 The shielding layer shall remain electrically conductive throughout. Question: How should electrical connection, electrical continuity, and electrical conductivity be understood? What are the differences between them?
An electrical connection means that the point where two conductors meet should be conductive； Electrical continuity refers to the need to maintain continuous conductivity between different conductors within a certain range ； Electrical conductivity refers to the fact that there should be no interruption within the same conductor.
