For a 25m3 underground ethanol tank, is it necessary to use a nitrogen blanket? Which standards can be referred to for this?

Since ethanol is classified as a Class B liquid with a boiling point of 78.3°C, and other types of tanks such as floating roof tanks cannot be used, it is necessary to employ a nitrogen blanket or some other inert protective gas, in addition to ensuring that the gases inside the tank are contained and processed properly. For details, please refer to Article 4.2.5 of the Specification for Tank Areas in Petrochemical Storage and Transportation Systems, SH/T 3007-2014.
If it’s not in the petrochemical industry, such as pharmaceutical companies, then there’s probably no need to comply with the specifications for storage areas in petrochemical transportation systems. Otherwise, many such companies would have to install an additional nitrogen system in order to achieve nitrogen sealing.

All standards have their scope of application, and this is the recommended standard for the petrochemical industry, SH/T. I understand that the petrochemical industry has relatively strict and formal requirements; other industries can use this as a reference. If **safety and environmental regulations are not required, then there is no need to comply with them
