For the connection between the skirt and the cylinder, which of the following welding methods is suitable? 1 SMAW, 2 GTAW+ SMAW 3 GTAW + FCAW
The connection between the skirt and the cylinder – it seems like it’s not clear! Isn’t the skirt usually connected to the head?
It’s like this: the connection between the skirt and the lower head
The connection between the skirt and the lower head can be carried out using SMAW or FCAW alone, or it can be welded using SMAW+SAW or FCAW+SAW.
It is used quite often in 1 and 2. I don’t think I’ve seen it in 3.
Active gas shielded welding methods such as FCAW are not recommended for pressure vessels. . . .
