May I ask, do exhaust valves need to be installed at the outlet of all pumps? If it is water, the exhaust valve can be opened at startup; once water starts to flow out of this valve, it indicates that the air in the pump and the outlet pipes has been completely removed. But what if the medium is flammable, explosive, toxic, or harmful? It cannot be discharged through the exhaust valve – so what should be done? Pumps generally have backflow; can the backflow line replace the outlet vent?

Our factory has a management system for the recovery of sampling oil, and this actually includes the oil released as a result of the inspection and maintenance of pumps. There are also water pumps that cannot be emptied, mainly due to contamination or unpleasant odors; in such cases, fresh water or deionized water is used to fill the pump ; When filling the liquefied gas pump, we direct the outlet vent to discharge directly into the low-pressure gas pipeline network ; For oil pumps, most of the time it is drained on-site; when necessary, a bucket is used to catch the liquid ; If it is highly toxic and harmful, then it should be discharged in a sealed manner, with a low-pressure system for recovery.
To prevent cavitation, centrifugal pumps are necessary. Hazardous and toxic substances can be discharged into the flare system. The return line cannot replace the outlet exhaust.
