I currently work in equipment management at a chemical company, but I had no prior experience with equipment management; it’s really giving me trouble. Could someone with experience give me some advice?
Special equipment management, moving equipment management, personnel management, spare parts management, software documentation management
Take it easy, everything will be fine. No one starts doing this right away. Do more, and ask if you don’t know something.
Equipment management involves the accumulation of knowledge related to mechanical systems: principles of mechanics, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting of equipment failures, equipment performance, equipment records, spare parts management, as well as technical improvements and innovations.
If one has never worked with equipment, how can they manage equipment-related tasks? Then you have to start from scratch and learn the structural principles, operation, and maintenance of *the equipment. Once these are understood, then learn *how to manage*. Without these foundations, not even a deity can teach you.
Strengthening regular inspections of equipment is more effective than carrying out emergency repairs at the site of an incident
That’s right; an understanding of the principles behind the equipment and basic knowledge of materials is very important
Equipment management covers a wide range of areas; special equipment (pressure vessels, lifting equipment, welding and cutting equipment), moving equipment, electrical instruments, spare parts, and document management are all part of equipment management.
We are a chemical enterprise that mainly produces fertilizers and cement
