I would like to ask everyone: for a storage tank, positive-pressure rupture disks and negative-pressure rupture disks are installed. If the medium transmitted by a positive-pressure rupture disc is the medium inside the storage tank, is the same true for the medium transmitted by a negative-pressure rupture disc? Thank you!

The storage tank has no safety valve, only a burst disc. The storage tank is used to hold methanol, and I don’t understand this design either – there are two rupture disks, one for positive pressure and one for negative pressure.
Is this storage tank generally operated in a combination of positive and negative pressure modes? Is a negative pressure rupture disc installed to prevent the storage tank from being damaged due to excessive negative pressure? If that’s the case, wouldn’t it be better to install a two-way rupture disc?
Positive pressure rupture disks are designed to prevent damage to equipment caused by excessive internal pressure, while negative pressure rupture disks are intended to prevent damage resulting from too high a vacuum level (external pressure)

Positive pressure is exerted from inside the tank outward, while negative pressure comes from the gas in the external pipelines. Since you’re using methanol, nitrogen should be used. As for the material of the burst disc, there are no specific requirements – a standard material will suffice, as your material doesn’t have any special properties. The only thing that needs to be determined is the burst pressure; P
