A single-screw pump is primarily composed of a screw rotor and a rubber stator. The motor drives the rotor to rotate, and the rotor together with the stator create dynamic, sealed volume chambers; as the screw moves forward, this mechanism enables the transport of the medium. But it wears out faster. A twin-screw pump is driven by a motor that operates a pair of gears rotating in sync; these gears, in turn, drive two sets of screws to rotate in opposite directions via two shafts. This creates dynamic volume chambers, but the screws do not come into contact with each other as there is a certain gap between them, which results in a very long service life for the pump. A triple-screw pump operates with the motor driving one driving screw, which in turn causes two driven screws to rotate in the opposite direction in order to transport the medium; however, since the driving screw drives the driven screws, wear is relatively high. It is generally used to transport lubricating media. However, due to close contact, it provides good sealing and high output pressure. It is mainly used for transporting viscous media, such as various oils and adhesives. For liquids that are difficult to pump with other types of pumps, a screw pump should be chosen.
