How to calculate the amount of hydrogen that can be produced from one ton of liquid ammonia, and what is that amount?
:We used to produce hydrogen through the decomposition of liquid ammonia as well, but the purity couldn’t be guaranteed; we no longer use that method. Now, one has to calculate on-site how much hydrogen will be produced
The sulfur content is 0.2 PPM, and other impurities are less than 0.1 PPM. Well, what is the standard according to ammonia synthesis requirements? I’m not very good at calculating; how do I do it on the spot?
:P needs to be calculated based on your reaction conditions and conversion rate; we don’t calculate it at all here. We use hydrogen for reduction, and about half of the hydrogen does not participate in the reaction and is simply vented. In the end, only the ammonia consumption is taken into account. As long as the purity of the hydrogen is sufficient during use, that’s fine. However, this type of hydrogen contains a relatively high amount of ammonia, and we carry out the reduction under acidic conditions, which often leads to blockages in the hydrogenation tower.

I thought it was just a hallucination; there really is a process for producing hydrogen from ammonia. I wasn’t aware of that.
Let’s not talk about how much is converted for now. Your process is extremely unreasonable. This is because in industry, coal is first gasified into a mixed gas using a gasifier. The mixed gas is then purified to produce hydrogen. Synthetic ammonia is then produced using hydrogen and nitrogen under certain temperature, pressure conditions, and in the presence of a catalyst. Nitrogen is also purified by air cooling. Synthetic ammonia is an important industrial product. The most common use is in the production of urea.
Do you know what technique this is? The liquid ammonia used to reduce the catalysts for hydrogen production conversion requires high-temperature decomposition of liquid ammonia to produce hydrogen; how is the amount of liquid ammonia needed calculated?
I don’t understand either why ammonia is used to produce hydrogen. Isn’t hydrogen all produced by electrolysis...
:(You can’t buy hydrogen; you have to produce it yourself. Decomposing ammonia is a relatively cost-effective method. After all, the synthesis of ammonia is a reversible reaction, and under certain conditions, ammonia decomposes. . . .
