Weekly Sulfur Review: Steady Market Trends Author/Source: Date: 2016-06-06 Clicks: 2 According to the data from CBN’s commodity rankings, domestic sulfur prices fluctuated slightly this week. At the end of the week and at the beginning of it, the average ex-factory price for granular sulfur in China was around 767 yuan per ton, representing a 36.24% decline compared to the same period last year. Market Analysis: For products, the domestic sulfur market has shown a steady trend this week, operating within a range with little fluctuation. Trading activity has been low, and the market continues to remain in a state of consolidation. There is a sense of hesitation and waiting among market participants; in the short term, the sulfur market is unlikely to see any significant breakthroughs or major changes. In terms of ports, there is an ample supply of sulfur at the main ports, and a large amount of goods from nearby areas are arriving, resulting in a stable market situation for spot transactions at these ports. Among them, the reference price for powder at the Yangtze River port area is around 745 yuan per ton, with weak demand downstream. Industry chain: 1. This week, the sulfuric acid market has remained volatile at low levels; there is an ample supply in the domestic market, and downstream manufacturers mainly make purchases based on their immediate needs. It is expected that the market condition for sulfuric acid will continue to remain weak and stagnant in the short term ; 2. With the downstream phosphatic ammonium market operating at low levels, the production and prices of monoammonium phosphate remain low. Companies are nearing the end of their shipping activities, with only occasional orders remaining; some companies have orders that will last until mid-May. Previously, fixed purchase prices or individual negotiations were used for transactions, and the final settlement prices remained consistent with the initial quotes ; International production shows no signs of improvement; export orders are weak, prices are falling, and this sluggish trend is likely to continue in the near future ; The export processing of diammonium is low, and there is little willingness to stock up in the short term; the weak trend in the diammonium market continues, with prices remaining stable at low levels. Industry: This week, the sulfur market faced limited support from both domestic and international markets; trading activity was sluggish, prices remained stable, and the market as a whole showed a weak downward trend. Future outlook: The sulfur market is expected to remain in a state of stalemate, with a sideways trend being the dominant pattern in the short term, according to sulfur analysts at the Chemicals Division of Shobunsha. Urea price trends across China / Author/Source: China Fertilizer Network / Date: 2016-06-14 / Clicks: 3. Demand for urea in both industrial and agricultural sectors remains weak, leading to a steady decline in prices; however, as some agricultural areas start preparing for planting, urea prices have seen a slight upward trend. The situation regarding agricultural fertilizer preparation in Shandong region is slightly better; a few manufacturers have raised their prices by 10 yuan. However, the overall production level has increased, and the average ex-factory price of urea has dropped by 10 yuan (per ton, same below) to 1250–1280 yuan. The actual transaction prices at the factory are... (the omitted details can be found in the member area, same below) ; The situation for manufacturers in Hebei selling their products to areas such as Fujian is slightly better; the mainstream factory prices for urea have increased by 10 yuan, reaching 1230–1240 yuan. However, sales within those regions are average, and a few manufacturers are offering prices 20 yuan lower, resulting in still relatively low transaction volumes ; The mainstream ex-factory prices in the Henan region remain stable at 1,250–1,290 yuan, for industrial use…… ; Competition is fierce among manufacturers in Shanxi when selling their products externally; the standard factory prices for urea range from 1200–1210 yuan, with a discount margin still available for transactions. The higher-end prices remain at the fixed federal rates ; Fertilizer preparation in the Jiangsu-Anhui region is not centralized, and sales performance for manufacturers is average. The main selling prices in Anhui range from 10 yuan lower to 1,300–1,380 yuan; industrial orders result in slightly lower prices. A few manufacturers in Jiangsu offer slightly greater discounts ; Agricultural fertilizer preparation in Inner Mongolia is slowing down, with prices at some manufacturers dropping by around 20 yuan ; The weather conditions in Shaanxi province are average, and the preparation of fertilizers for agriculture is not satisfactory. The standard factory prices for urea range from 1,300 to 1,380 yuan, with a discount available upon purchase ; Agricultural demand in the Xinjiang region is relatively scattered; the overall utilization rate is... The mainstream ex-factory price of urea has dropped to 1,070–1,120 yuan, with transaction prices being slightly lower. Overall, the timing for agricultural fertilizer preparation in the summer is still a bit early; industrial demand will gradually decrease. With urea prices falling further, there aren’t many orders that can be placed at the moment. Therefore, it is expected that urea prices will remain weak in the near term, and it will be necessary to watch whether agricultural fertilizer preparation activities start on a larger scale in certain areas. Regional market prices: Unit: yuan/ton (bold in the table refers to large-grain urea)

Daily Sulfur Report: Weak market activity. Author/Source: Date: 2016-06-14. Clicks: 4. The domestic sulfur market is operating at low levels with weak trading activity; inventory levels at the Yangtze River ports remain stable at 980,000 tons, accounting for 56% of the total inventory. This situation has led to a cautious attitude among traders in the coming period, as their desire to engage in speculative trading has decreased. Some traders are selling their stock to realize cash gains and avoid further price declines. The current price for granular sulfur at the Yangtze River ports is 720 yuan per ton, while at the Qingdao port, the price for powdered sulfur is around 700 yuan per ton. Regarding domestic sulfur, the inventory at the Dazhou plant is practically zero, while the inventory at Wanzhou Port is 22,000 tons; consumption of these inventories is the main activity. Market outlook: Low enthusiasm for phosphatic fertilizer exports on the downstream side is suppressing domestic prices for phosphatic ammonium, which in turn affects demand for the raw material sulfur. In the short term, the domestic sulfur market is expected to show a downward trend; external forces are not sufficient to stabilize prices. The fundamentals of the sulfur market are bearish, so taking a short position would be a viable option. (China Agri-Media Network)

Daily Sulfur Report: Weak market performance. Author/Source: Date: 2016-06-22. Clicks: 2. On Tuesday, the domestic sulfur market was in a weak state; the transportation cost in Puguang and Dazhou, Sichuan, dropped by 30 yuan to 700 yuan per ton, while the price at Wanzhou Port remained stable at 720 yuan per ton. With low inventory levels, the decline in sales prices in Puguang had little impact on the market. Some manufacturers in Central China have reduced the price by 20 yuan, to 640 yuan per ton; the prevailing price for solid sulfur in that region is between 640 and 660 yuan per ton. In the surrounding South China region, the typical price for solid sulfur is between 630 and 700 yuan per ton. Market analysis: The CIF price in China is $88 per ton. Offers for second-hand goods in US dollars are not enthusiastic, and based on the trend of domestic spot prices, it is predicted that the CIF price in China will continue to decline.
