The full English name of TBP is True Boiling Point, which means the actual boiling point. The specifications requested by the customer specify that the cutting point between heavy naphtha and kerosene at the true boiling point is 155°C. The true boiling point curve shows the temperature values at different distillation percentages such as 100%, 95%, etc. By using these temperature values along with the corresponding distillation percentages, it is possible to create a true boiling point distillation curve. From this curve, the distillation percentage at 155°C can be determined, thereby allowing the calculation of the yields of heavy naphtha, kerosene, and so on
Since crude oil is a mixture rather than a pure substance, it does not have a single boiling point like pure substances. When oil is heated to different temperatures, mixtures with varying compositions are distilled out; moreover, different distillation conditions result in mixtures with different compositions being distilled at the same temperature range. Depending on these conditions, different names are given to such mixtures. The TBP you mentioned is an abbreviation for true boiling point, which refers to the actual boiling point of the substance. The cutting range you mentioned refers to the temperature range of each cutting fraction in true boiling point distillation. It should have resolved your doubts
