I agree with some of the points mentioned on the third floor; acid tanks usually require nitrogen sealing as well as exhaust gas absorption systems. However, due to the installation of nitrogen sealing and exhaust gas absorption, the pressure at the top of the tank is no longer at atmospheric pressure, and single-flange level gauges cannot measure the liquid level stably. At this time, it is recommended to use dual flanges or radar; radar is cheaper.

We also leave it open; there’s just a small flange on the top of the tank, right? It is recommended to use a single flange, as it provides stability and has a low failure rate. However, it’s best to ensure that the density of the acidic liquid remains constant. You can start by choosing an option that offers a low failure rate, is easy to maintain, and does not incur high costs.
The single-flange type is superior to radar in terms of ease of maintenance and lower cost. If a nitrogen seal is used, it’s also an easy solution – just install a pressure lead pipe at the top of the tank and connect it to the negative pressure side of the single-flange level gauge. An additional drain valve can be added to allow regular drainage, in case there is any liquid buildup: lol
For radar level gauges, they can only be installed from the top; to check the liquid level in person, one must go to the top of the tank. It is also necessary to determine whether the salt and acid are at room temperature or above it. In cold weather conditions, acid mist is likely to form, and this mist can attach itself to the probe of the radar level gauge, affecting the accuracy of measurements. Our company has used such gauges as well, and in cold weather we often had to go to the top of the tank to clean the probes. It is recommended to use single-flange level gauges, as they allow for local display; however, it is important to choose the right type of diaphragm – if the concentration of chlorides is high and the quality of the diaphragm material is poor, it is prone to corrosion

That said, the choice of sensor depends on whether there are holes available at the bottom of your tank; if there are only holes at the top, then you don’t need to consider a single-flange design.
