Why are necked butt-weld flanges specified as the standard for manholes? Can’t other types of flanges that meet the pressure requirements be used instead?
There are many types of flanges, and the choice of a particular flange is based not only on the pressure rating but also on factors such as the type of seal surface connection and other parameters
Waisted butt-welded flange manholes are used on containers with high requirements, such as those in high-hazard environments. Don’t consider only the issue of stress.
Flanges with a neck for butt welding can also be used, depending on the medium and pressure rating!
