Is it necessary to install a safety valve on the outlet pipe of a centrifugal air compressor?

Regulations require that a safety valve be installed on the pipeline between a piston compressor and a buffer tank; I’m not sure if this requirement applies to centrifugal compressors as well.
Which standard did the original poster refer to that states a safety valve is required on the pipeline between a piston compressor and a buffer tank?
There must be a safety valve at the compressor outlet; in emergency situations, it serves as a protection device for the unit
Some centrifugal air compressor manufacturers claim that their units do not require safety valves at the outlet
We have a centrifugal model, and indeed it doesn’t have a safety valve at the outlet
I personally think the centrifugal type can be omitted. In a centrifugal compressor, air is drawn in as the impeller rotates and then exits through the outlet pipe; if there is no discharge, no air can be drawn in, and thus no overpressure occurs. A positive-displacement compressor must be equipped with a safety valve; if the outlet of such a compressor is closed, gas will continue to flow into it, and over time this will lead to overpressure and potential accidents. My personal understanding! :)
