Does anyone know anything about the KingView software? There are 3 projects, each based on the KingView+S7 315 configuration, connected via 343 Ethernet ports. The host computers are either an engineer station combined with an operation station, or just an operation station. The 3 plants are about 500 meters apart; how should the network be set up so that one operation station can control 3 PLCs? How to connect to the internet?
CP343 is an Ethernet module, and ordinary Ethernet cables should not exceed 100 meters in length; therefore, you need an optoelectronic conversion module. Then, gather the network cables corresponding to the 3 CP343 units and those of the engineer station on one switch. At the same time, the IP addresses of the 4 objects must be within the same network segment. KingView supports multiple connections.
Communication is possible as long as they are on the same network segment
Use a switch and fiber optics; set the computers and PLCs to the same network segment, such as 192.168.1*. The PLC can be one with a PN port, allowing direct Ethernet use
There is one that uses a pair of 315-2 cards plus 2 343 cards for redundancy. What you have here is actually a low-cost redundancy solution from Siemens; they call it soft redundancy. Although they are two 343s, strictly speaking, they are two separate entities and not redundant. Because redundancy always involves one active and one standby. These two CP343s still need to be connected to the same switch. I’m not sure if KingView has a function for automatic switching of communication channels; if not, then two identical operation interfaces will need to be created.
