Is the chlorine pipeline used in the production of polyvinyl chloride heating up? I need help solving this problem: After stopping production for a few days and resuming it, heat is generated in the pipes when chlorine is introduced, and smoke appears from the polyurethane insulation on the outside. Pipe heating can cause the polyurethane foam to emit smoke; it’s not just a normal temperature – such temperatures can exceed 200 degrees. Reaching this temperature indicates that a vigorous exothermic chemical reaction has taken place within the wild donkey pipeline, and the first thing to suspect is backflow of material into the pipeline. I am not aware of the connection method between your pipeline and the chlorination tank, nor whether a check valve is installed; backflow of material is a major hazard in chlorination reactions.
The production of CPE is now quite mature. In your case, is chlorine introduced from the bottom of the reactor, causing the liquid material to flow back into the chlorine introduction pipeline? Or could it be that the pressure of liquid chlorine is lower than the reaction pressure, which also caused backflow of the material liquid?
