There are plenty of work related to water supply and drainage, but not enough workers. Is it a good idea to switch from process work to water supply and drainage?

Water is better than the chemical industry, with a wider range of employment opportunities. The treatment is good too.
It’s not a compound-type setting; anyway, judging from the treatment given to those working in water supply, drainage, and HVAC fields, their salaries are quite high. Moreover, there’s hardly any need for overtime in these areas, and the scope of work is broad. Even if there are no engineering projects available, they can always switch to working in civil or municipal sectors
Compared to the process and piping specialties, there are many similarities in the work related to water supply and drainage, and it’s also much simpler. I think it’s easy to get started with; however, for fire protection aspects, it’s necessary to seek advice from others and study several standards. Process and piping technicians only have time to work on two or three projects at a time, while plumbing technicians can handle multiple projects. If you want to become a project manager in the future, keep working in process management ; If I want broader career opportunities in the future, I will choose water supply and drainage. However, for future development, it ultimately depends on what projects you have worked on and your role in those projects
It’s better than traditional craftsmanship; the requirements are similar across different projects. If you put in effort to work on one or two of them, you’ll become proficient. With fewer people, each person gets more to do – that’s a good thing.
