Leakage at the packing of the new hydrogen compressor

Gentlemen, a few days ago we noticed that air was leaking from the packing seal into the packing cooling water in our new hydrogen compressor. So we had it repaired by a technician who replaced the packing rings; after that we tried running the machine again, but the original problem persisted. Now hydrogen is leaking out along the piston rod, as well as oil. The mechanic said that the machine needs some running-in time and that things will be fine after a couple of days. It has been running for a day and a night now, yet there’s still no improvement. I’m asking for advice on what to do! Waiting online
The new filler box needs to be run in, with lubrication being added as it operates; if that doesn’t work, it needs to be disassembled for further repair

There’s no need to keep it running; it’s recommended to disassemble it again and replace the entire packing ring
But it has already been replaced once – could there be a problem with the piston rod or some other part?
Take it apart to check, especially the sealing rings at the piston – even the piston itself needs to be inspected. The leakage of packing into the circulating water is not an external leak; there are many possible causes, and mechanical maintenance staff can handle it
