If life were perfect, there would be no butterfly effect. \"The Butterfly Effect\" is a science fiction thriller directed by Eric Bress and J. Mackey Gruber, starring Ashton Kutcher, Amy Smart, John Patrick Amedori, Jesse James, and others. It was officially released in the United States on January 23, 2004. The movie tells the story of Ivan (Ashton Kutcher), who experienced a series of terrible things in his childhood that ruined what could have been a perfect life for him. Tormented by the terrible memories of his childhood, Ivan sought help from a psychologist. The doctor encouraged him to write down in detail everything that had happened, but things only got worse
Tormented by terrible memories from his childhood, Ivan sought the help of a psychologist, who advised him to use travel to relax and to write down in detail everything that happened each day. Now, with the help of traveling and keeping a diary, Ivan, who has entered university, suddenly realizes that a notebook in which he records what he does each day can help him recall his childhood memories.
Ivan, who had regained his memory, was not happy; instead, guilt took the place of the black hole and began to torment him, causing him immense pain. On the brink of pain, Ivan hoped to completely shed the shadows of his childhood; he imagined using his consciousness to enter that childhood body, in order to make amends for the mistakes he had made, cherish the friendships formed during his childhood, and love everyone properly. Obviously, Ivan hopes to change his past.
But everything that Ivan changed in the past, when he returned to the present, he found that it had unexpected consequences, with even greater damage, and things became increasingly worse. To make amends for his mistake, Ivan returned to the past once again in an attempt to erase the traces, but things went wrong; his actions only led to a further deterioration of the real world. And so, over and over again, he struggled between an increasingly chaotic past and reality, until an irreversible outcome.
I watched it N years ago; it’s a classic. Worth a look.
