Which standard is more authoritative regarding the pipe spacing on pipe racks? ?

I usually look up the recommended values for pipe spacing in the \"Chemical Process Design Handbook\". After all, being too close makes it difficult to carry out insulation work, and moreover, the flanges will collide with each other.
In fact, there is no more authoritative question than what you mentioned; the key lies in the requirements, whether it’s for installation, maintenance, or insulation. For example, in the case of pipes with flanges, in addition to the space occupied by the flanges, there is also space required for installing and removing them. Subject to meeting these requirements, the more compact it is, the less investment is needed and the less space it occupies. Are you right?
All of the factors you mentioned are things to take into consideration. However, measures to eliminate static electricity in cases where the spacing is too small also need to be considered – for example, at what minimum distance can flammable gas pipes be laid side by side, and at what axial distance should grounding be implemented.
