I. One should be humble; by embracing all things, one can achieve greatness. Safety work has only a starting point, no ending point, and allows no room for deceit or pride. When safety work is running smoothly, avoid carelessness and focus on practical work ; When achieving success, remain calm and patient ; When summarizing experiences, stay clear-headed and avoid confusion. As one manager said, safety work requires focusing on each shift; by ensuring safety in each shift, one can maintain it throughout the day, the week, the month, the quarter, and the year. It is through achieving these small goals that larger objectives can be accomplished. As a safety manager, to use a common saying, one must always act with humility, conduct oneself in an honest manner, carry out tasks diligently, remain vigilant, and maintain an attitude of modesty. It is by combining small efforts that great achievements can be made, just as short steps can lead to a long journey. II. One must be cautious; a dam thousands of miles long can collapse because of an ant hole. The same is true for safety work. Even a minor hazard, if not addressed in a timely manner, can lead to a major accident. Therefore, safety managers must be careful and meticulous, promptly identifying and addressing minor hazards, as well as ensuring proper monitoring of the work environment. Do not overlook any safety detail, including each process step, each time period, and each individual; ensure proper supervision and inspection, correct habitual violations of safety rules, and maintain strict control over the people on site. It is necessary to promptly collect and organize information on the safety conditions in the production environment and throughout the manufacturing processes. Any issues or potential hazards identified must be addressed immediately, with follow-up actions taken until they are resolved and verified as closed. In short, to be a cautious safety manager means to use meticulous, standardized, and scientific management methods to carry out every aspect of safety work in a thorough and detailed manner. III. To be an executor: Safety work hinges on implementation. As a safety manager, one must focus on practical implementation and strict enforcement. Some accident lessons tell us that inadequate implementation of measures or poor execution of tasks can lead to accidents. Safety management requires the development of a culture that emphasizes execution; it is necessary to foster an attitude that disregards objective factors and conditions and demands immediate action, to establish a habit of carrying out tasks thoroughly to the end, and to cultivate the ability and competence to dare to act and to do so effectively. Abandon bad habits such as half-hearted execution, workarounds, and complaints, and ensure that safety instructions, safety measures, and safety regulations are properly implemented. Unify voices, thoughts, and opinions, eliminate distractions, and create a favorable environment for safe production. IV. One must be brave. Cowardly people are often afraid of difficulties, while brave people become more determined the more setbacks they face and step forward to tackle them. As a safety manager, one should be a brave person. The courage here is not arbitrariness, nor **; rather, it means being decisive and resolute in exercising one’s authority properly, without hesitation or hesitation. With a courageous attitude, any safety hazards are addressed immediately upon discovery, and any non-compliant behaviors are corrected or stopped right away; even if immediate action is not possible, such behaviors are still halted promptly. This enables decisive action to be taken in addressing safety issues, keeping potential hazards under control, preventing accidents from occurring, and securing every aspect of safety. V. One must be persistent; those who work hard will not be disappointed, and safety also requires such persistence. It’s not hard to do a good deed; what’s difficult is to keep doing good deeds throughout one’s life. This sentence can also be applied to safety: it’s not difficult to ensure safety throughout the day; what’s hard is to maintain an accident-free situation all the time. To achieve a safety target of zero, perseverance is required. If safety management is pursued with determination, one will be diligent in movement, observation, and action to maintain dynamic control of the site ; They will treat safety management as their own mission, working diligently and conscientiously without any slack, to ensure safe production on a daily basis. At present, we need this spirit of persistent pursuit, as well as a group of safety management professionals who are committed to taking safety work seriously and handling it with care. VI. One must be impartial. Bao Zheng in history ensured that those who were wronged received justice, while those who broke the law could not escape punishment; his spirit of impartiality is worthy of admiration and praise. Safety managers also need this kind of character. If safety managers act out of favoritism and fail to enforce rules, it constitutes an endorsement of those who violate regulations, fostering a tendency to act recklessly in violation of rules; this can result in injuries at the least, or even death at the worst ; For oneself, it can result in poor performance at work at the very least, and illegal actions at the worst – harming both others and oneself. Only when safety managers develop an impartial attitude can safety penalties be enforced strictly and effectively, thereby gaining people’s trust ; Only then can one show consideration and truly prioritize the safety of those operating on site, putting people first ; Only then will one act in accordance with laws, regulations, and rules, avoid corruption, and handle matters impartially. In southern mines, the natural conditions are harsh, natural disasters are frequent, the level of mechanization is low, and the overall competence of employees is not high. This makes safety management extremely difficult. Under such circumstances, safety managers need to be strict and uncompromising; only by being strict can the importance of safety be maintained, and only then can safety-related projects have a solid foundation. VII. Be more serious: Through various incidents, it is easy to see that we lack a serious approach to safety management. If one doesn’t take things seriously, they will avoid responsibility and stand by doing nothing, which is extremely detrimental to those in charge. Safety management requires a serious approach; once a threat is identified, it must be stopped firmly and decisively. Even if actions taken are overly strict at times, at least it is possible to analyze the situation calmly, to strengthen safety measures, and to prevent accidents from occurring. From the perspective of people-oriented management, it is necessary to analyze potential hazards based on the working conditions on site and the way people carry out their tasks, in order to prevent problems before they arise. It is essential to be thorough in this approach, adopting an attitude of preferring to shut down operations voluntarily for a day rather than having to do so as a result of an emergency; one should say “no” when problems are detected. Security management requires careful attention and diligent effort; by adopting various approaches to address changing challenges, it can be made effective, organized, and efficient.
