Within our area, the only pipelines that are related to pressure pipelines are a few steam pipelines for HVAC systems; they operate at 200°C, have a diameter of over dn50, and operate at a pressure of 1.0 MPa. According to standard 20801, such thermal pipelines do not fall under the category of industrial pipelines. So how is the grading calculated? Is it based on GC2 of 20801? Furthermore, in TSG D0001-2009, pressure pipelines are defined as follows in Article 2: These regulations apply to industrial pipelines (hereinafter referred to as “pipelines”) that are part of process units, auxiliary units, and utility systems within a facility, provided that they meet the following conditions: (1) The maximum operating pressure is greater than or equal to 0.1 MPa (gauge pressure, the same below) ; (II) Those with a nominal diameter (Note 1) greater than 25 mm ; (III) When the medium being transported is a gas, steam, liquefied gas, a liquid whose maximum operating temperature is higher than or equal to its standard boiling point, or a liquid that is flammable, explosive, toxic, or corrosive. According to the definitions in the former Ministry of Labor’s \"Regulations on the Safety Management and Supervision of Pressure Pipelines\" and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine’s \"Rules for the Design Approval of Pressure Vessels and Pressure Pipelines\" TSG R1001-2008, industrial pipelines refer to the process pipelines, utility pipelines, and other auxiliary pipelines owned by enterprises and institutions, which are used for transporting process media. Well, the large-scale project we are working on is a coal chemical project. The utility pipelines generally refer to water or wastewater used in the manufacturing process. As for our HVAC pipelines, do they fall under the category of pressure pipelines? Is it necessary to have them inspected by a specialized inspection agency during installation? It has now been clearly required to submit a report, but out of a spirit of learning, I would still like to ask whether thermal steam pipelines fall under the scope of supervision and inspection for pressure pipelines.

According to the latest catalog of special equipment, steam pipelines with a pressure greater than 0.1 MPa and a pipe diameter of 50 DN or more fall under the category of pressure pipelines. According to the classification of pressure pipelines under 20801, this steam pipeline belongs to GC2 category.
Pressure pipelines refer to tubular devices that use a certain pressure to transport gases or liquids. They are defined as pipelines with a maximum operating pressure of 0.1 MPa (gauge pressure) or more, whose medium is gas, liquefied gas, steam, or liquids that are flammable, explosive, toxic, corrosive, and have a maximum operating temperature equal to or higher than their standard boiling point; such pipelines also have a nominal diameter of 50 mm or more. Except for pipes with a nominal diameter of less than 150 mm and a maximum operating pressure of less than 1.6 MPa (gauge pressure), as well as the pipes that form part of the equipment used for transporting non-toxic, non-flammable, and non-corrosive gases. Among them, the safety supervision and management of oil and gas pipelines shall also be carried out in accordance with laws and regulations such as the Work Safety Law and the Oil and Gas Pipeline Protection Law.
