At present, our company’s 15,000 capacity air separation unit is equipped with an 8,000 KW motor, and its power consumption is truly astonishing. Especially since we operate at low load levels, the high electricity usage keeps costs high. I would like to ask everyone here whether the 15,000 unit for air separation uses turbines; the energy consumption of turbines mainly refers to how much steam is used in a day or in a month. The cost of steam produced internally here is 185 yuan per ton, while the cost of electricity is 0.69 yuan per kilowatt-hour. At present, this cost has been reduced to 75% of the original level. However, the air compressors still consume as much as 130,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per day. Could any experienced person advise me on whether it’s possible to replace them with turbines? What would be the investment costs involved?
What is the pressure of the steam, and is it stable? You can find a turbine manufacturer to prepare a proposal, and then assess the return on investment~~
We have options of 3.5MPa and 1.0MPa; we have our own thermal power plant, so we’d like to first consider what the energy consumption of the air compressor will be Every day or every hour.
Steam consumption = (steam enthalpy at turbine inlet – steam enthalpy at turbine outlet) × efficiency / 3600 / shaft power; you can estimate this value~~
The steam pressure is slightly low; 30 kilograms or more is not quite suitable as power steam. However, steam turbines are generally more energy-efficient than motors. With low steam pressure, the consumption of steam increases, and so does water consumption
