Is it dangerous to mix 5% hydrogen peroxide, 0.3% liquid alkali, and 94.7% wastewater in a pipeline mixer? If not handled properly, could direct contact between liquid caustic and hydrogen peroxide cause it to decompose immediately, generating gas and posing a danger?
If the medium is pure water and the temperature is not high, this mixture poses no safety risks. But it’s hard to say the same for wastewater; its components may either not affect the stability of hydrogen peroxide, or they may increase its stability, or they may reduce it. Moreover, such wastewater might contain flammable and explosive substances, and the release of oxygen when hydrogen peroxide decomposes represents a serious safety hazard.
