SCC is characterized by the formation of corrosive mechanical cracks, which can develop along grain boundaries or spread through the grains. Since crack propagation occurs within the metal, it reduces the strength of the metal structure; in severe cases, sudden failure can occur. SCC occurs under certain conditions, and these are: certain tensile stress or residual stress within the metal ; Metals or alloys are sensitive to stress corrosion ; There are media that can cause stress corrosion in this metal or alloy. The control measures for SCC include: 1. Avoid combining SCC-sensitive materials with corresponding media during engineering design. 2. Eliminate internal stresses in metal components during manufacturing, such as through heat treatment and reducing weld excess height. 3. Avoid the accumulation of harmful ions (such as chloride ions) during use; for example, clean promptly to prevent the evaporation and concentration of residual liquids.
