What is a root valve for LNG storage tanks? Are all the stop valves below the storage tank root valves?
The LNG tank root valve refers to the first valve located near the tank body on the external piping of the tank, and is commonly known as the root valve.
There is a weight-driven valve beneath our storage tank, as well as an ESD emergency shut-off valve and on-site manual valves, plus solenoid valves for routine operation. I’m not sure which one you are referring to
The person on the third floor is right; it’s all called that – it’s the first valve that connects to the tank.
The weight-driven valve is a valve located inside the storage tank; the liquid outlet pipeline passes through this weight-driven valve before exiting the tank. Outside the tank, there is a manual valve, and after that, an ESD emergency shut-off valve. Among these three valves, the manual valve that is located right next to the tank is considered the root valve.
