In a vacuum distillation unit, what is the relationship between the reflux at the middle section of the atmospheric tower and the temperature and pressure at the top? Which has a greater impact, temperature or pressure, due to mid-stage reflux?
Top reflux primarily controls the quality of the product drawn from the top of the tower, while middle reflux can regulate the temperature in the middle section; it has little effect on pressure. It influences the quality of both the product drawn from the top and that drawn from the middle section, and adjustments should be made based on the quality requirements
