It is being considered to introduce a spray of water directly into the waste steam pipeline (pre-cooling water from the pre-cooling system could be used for this purpose). Fellow engineers, do you think this is feasible?
Would it be better to use deionized water?~~

It is planned to introduce about 10 kilograms of cooling water into the waste steam pipeline; I’m not sure if this is feasible (After water enters, it exchanges heat with the waste steam at around 70 degrees in the waste steam pipeline, thereby reducing the vacuum.)
I’ve never encountered it; generally, atomized water spraying is used for cooling~~
Desalinated water must be used; installing spray devices in the main pipes does not provide an effective cooling effect, and poor water quality can cause the nozzles to clog. We use condensed water to spray on the tube bundles, which gives a decent cooling effect, but it’s wasteful – we only use it when we really have no other choice.
Spraying water on the fin tubes of the air cooler is still effective, but it wastes water resources and causes the fin tubes to rust and scale. Internal spraying is ineffective. If you calculate the heat released when steam condenses into water and the heat that cooling water can absorb, they are not in the same order of magnitude at all – there is a difference of several hundred times.
Desalinated water is preferred; chilled water contains many impurities that can cause the fins to rust and scale. There are also ways to reduce the load.
Review the original design documents to analyze whether there are any issues with the selection of design parameter values. If there are any problems, propose specific solutions. Otherwise, it involves maintaining and cleaning the dust on the outer surface. The problem can be solved then.
