I would like to ask: to what extent is refined aviation fuel dependent on antioxidants? In other words, if the amount of antioxidant added is half less than what is specified, or if no antioxidant is added at all for some reason, I would like to know what impact this could have on jet fuel products
Antioxidants are added to prevent the oxidation of olefins in refined aviation fuel; without them, oxides will form in the fuel. Using aviation fuel containing such oxides in aircraft can lead to an engine failure in mid-air, resulting in plane crashes and loss of life.
