If a new pump is purchased, how to determine its installation height
Do you consider the installation height only after purchasing the pump?
It mainly depends on how much your effective net positive suction head (Ha) is, and this generally needs to be determined by the designer. Next, determine the required net positive suction head (Hr) for the pump. The maximum installation height for your pump is equal to Ha – Hr – 1, where 1 represents a margin of safety.

The installation height should be determined first before choosing a pump. But since the pump has already been purchased, the installation height needs to be considered in terms of head, net positive suction head, and the convenience of installation and maintenance.
