When the system is operating normally, the cycle compressor trips due to interlock; at that moment the system’s space velocity is essentially zero. So, will the temperature of the reactor bed rise? The temperature of our reactor bed is normally controlled by the drum pressure; this is how we operate normally. I’m just asking: if the compressor stops working and the space velocity decreases, will the temperature of the reactor bed rise? When the cycle compressor shuts down, theoretically the temperature rises momentarily before falling again. However, the temperature is controlled by the drum pressure, and since the drum pressure is under automatic control, the temperature change will not be significant!
It depends on the tracking sensitivity set for the proportional coefficient of the PIC instrument. If the tracking is fast, there should be no major issues when the drum is in automatic mode. If there is a delay, then the temperature of the bed layer will definitely rise; however, since the time required for the drum to control this temperature increase isn’t very long, in principle, the first reaction that occurs should be an increase in temperature
