Weekly Topic: What issues need attention in the practical operations of ammonia synthesis? Considering aspects such as the actual operations in ammonia synthesis, gas composition, energy savings and consumption reduction, catalyst lifespan, compressors, circulating water, and vent gases, we hope everyone will engage in discussions. Points will be awarded accordingly based on the completeness of the answers; thank you for your participation.
Let me mention a few points first. Firstly, it’s necessary to control the temperature of the synthesis tower properly. Secondly, proper separation and storage of liquid ammonia are required. Additionally, efficient recovery of off-gases and effective gas control are important as well. In fact, there are many such aspects
What are the key operating points for the ammonia synthesis unit? 1. The speed of voltage and temperature increase/decrease in the system. 2. Determine the operating temperature and the content of each component based on the catalyst usage cycle. Adjust the various branches to ensure an even distribution of bed temperature. 3. Increase the circulation volume as much as possible to boost production. 4. Ammonia cooling, oil removal, and regular drainage of the waste heat boiler. 5. Determine the maximum ammonia cooling temperature based on the imported ammonia content, in order to reduce the energy consumption of the ice machine. 6. During cold transfer, ammonia release equipment such as ammonia separators must ensure no liquid remains and no gas leakage occurs. 7. Recovery of off-gases, H2 recovery via membrane separation. Unpowered ammonia recovery, tapping the potential of hydrogen-rich exhaust gases. 8. Depending on the seasonal changes, and while ensuring proper control of the water cooling temperature, use circulating water as little as possible. 9. There is also temperature rise reduction, along with some precautions for starting up and shutting down.
