What are the differences in the physical properties of the final linings between rubber-lined equipment that is heated and vulcanized in a vulcanization tank, and chemical processing equipment whose rubber linings are applied directly using pre-vulcanized rubber sheets at the construction site?
Rubber sheets for lining delivery; pre-vulcanized sheets are kept on hand in the factory for use as backups; specific differences between them have not been studied
This post was last edited by nj1952 on 2017-6-13 at 13:49. The vulcanization process for rubber linings is generally provided by rubber sheet manufacturers. Depending on the operating conditions, the supplier and the buyer can negotiate to determine the vulcanization process, or they may follow the provisions in Appendix D of HG/T 20677-2013 \"Design Code for Chemical Equipment with Rubber Linings\". The vulcanization termination time should be determined by measuring the hardness of the lining layer or the hardness of the specimen under the same vulcanization conditions; if the hardness is insufficient, vulcanization should continue, but over-vulcanization must not occur in any part. Due to the different vulcanization processes for rubber-lined equipment, different types of rubber sheets are required, and their physical properties naturally vary as well.
