Our factory has recently been carrying out maintenance work on the main catalytic fan unit, which consists of a motor + gearbox (transmission) + axial flow fan + flue gas turbine. During the maintenance period, re-measurement of the alignment of the unit revealed an issue: the gearbox was 0.42 mm too high with respect to the axial flow fan. During installation, the installer failed to use adjustment shims under the gearbox base, which is why the gearbox cannot be lowered now. The fan itself cannot be adjusted as it is fixed in place. I hope someone can help come up with a solution to this problem.
Check what the allowable deviation value is for alignment; with this type of unit, alignment isn’t done with a zero-to-zero alignment – rather, a certain deviation is allowed. Different machine models and machining methods result in different values, so please check your installation requirements.
Is the gearbox the only component that can be moved? Could the base be polished and then adjusted using copper shims? Copper shims are soft in texture, which can help compensate for any unevenness resulting from polishing.
May I ask how the alignment check of the fan and the exhaust fan is going?

This type of 3-unit setup is designed to be aligned with reference to the gearbox; as the temperature of the smoke extractor increases during operation, it leads to a rise in temperature. During alignment, it’s not possible to achieve a perfect 0-to-0 alignment – the position should be lower than that of the gearbox, and the values must be determined based on actual conditions. The key is to use the gearbox as a reference point for alignment at both ends

Refer to the alignment curve in the cold state to find it; it’s not possible to achieve 0-0 in this case~~~~ But if the axial flow fan and gearbox in the cold state require 0-0 alignment, then check that there is a set of thick adjustment shims under the motor feet~~~~~~~~~~~
