This is my personal experience from working on a project. We carried out an EPC project for DuPont, and before the final inspection, DuPont was required to submit an application for inspection at the local special inspection agency. There was one person in charge in the office, with usually five or six people there in total; I kept my distance from them; This time he thought he had caught my artery! He asked for the documents needed for approval, so I gave them to him. He said they weren’t complete, so I sent him another full set of documents. Two weeks later, he said they were still not complete, so I found someone who understood technical drawings and sent him another full set again ; Another two weeks passed, and the general manager grew anxious; he held a special meeting. At that meeting, that person directly attacked me, saying again that \"the information is incomplete\"” ; They also said it was our responsibility for the time delay, showing complete arrogance as \"the owners\" – not only would they refuse to give us the final payment, but they also wanted to fine us! I remained silent; the general manager asked me to express my opinion, and I said, “*Sir, you must be busy and haven’t paid attention to this trivial matter.” ; I have done what I was supposed to do. I regret that things were not resolved; I have provided you with three sets of drawings. I now don’t know how to help you solve this issue. I hope you will take a look at the contract ; We must not lose a single penny of our payment for the work! ” They’re a bit uncomfortable, because I used to cater to them before; this time my words sounded \"unpleasant\"! The general manager called me outside, “What’s going on?” ”I gave a general account of how things went ; As a result, upon returning to the meeting room, they asked the team leader to bring the \"incomplete drawings\"; the three sets of drawings were mixed together and in a complete mess ; “If you are the staff responsible for approval, would you accept such drawings? ”The problem was obvious; the foreigner was also there, constantly asking the translator questions ; It just ended like that at the time ; I had dinner with the general manager in the evening, and he advised me, “Let it go; it’s a trivial matter.” ”“Work on a project, make some friends – but you should know me; I only make friends with those I really need to! ”As a result, I became friends with several people there, including the general manager. Later, I helped them prepare new drawings, and afterward they asked us to assist in creating safety and fire protection design drawings for the entire factory for approval, which increased the related project costs.
This “boss” is using his power to gain some benefits for himself; he’s waiting for you to take the initiative, not expecting you to be so straightforward.
It’s the homeowner who is in a hurry here, not the general contractor. I completely agree with the original poster; I’m still in touch with those with whom I worked on projects in the past.
I heard two years ago that the manager had changed positions. When I took clients to visit the system we developed, I ran into him; he was very polite to us, and I was also polite to him
He sacrificed something for me, and I will thank him. He did it as part of his job; it is part of his responsibilities; There aren’t enough positions either; he needs to understand that himself. I can’t send him there ;
Besides, he is also so “arrogant,” which is offensive
Haha, there are tons of such people – always asking for food, drinks, money, and gifts
Social problems will definitely improve.
