Is there anyone familiar with Huaxi’s ion liquid flue gas desulfurization technology? Why does the regenerated gas need to be condensed to around 40°C before being returned to the regeneration tower? Wouldn’t it be more energy-efficient to cool it to a temperature slightly below the saturation temperature?
You need to think about the principle: the regasified gas mainly consists of water, and a water balance needs to be achieved later on.

If the SO2 content in the regenerated gas is not high, and the temperature at which bubbles form during regeneration is well above 40°C, then condensation occurs at 40°C. Wouldn’t this result in a large amount of steam being wasted, as the condensed liquid returning flows back at too low a temperature? Moreover, the SO2 that is separated out returns to the regeneration tower, thereby increasing the loading on that tower
That’s right; if sulfuric acid is to be produced later on, the temperature can also be above 60 degrees
One more question: if the temperature rises, will it increase corrosion of the subsequent equipment? The recycled gas we produce is used to continue the production of sulfuric acid. What is the highest condensation temperature that can be achieved?
It won’t happen, as long as there is a balance in sulfuric acid production; Heat exchangers can remove heat that has been dried out
