Is an explosion-proof thickness gauge required for measuring the wall thickness of gas pipelines?

The company produces synthetic fibers, and it currently has a gas pipeline. Safety and environmental regulations require us to conduct regular inspections of the pipe walls to check for corrosion. Is an explosion-proof thickness gauge necessary? I searched online for a long time, and almost none of them are explosion-proof; those from abroad are too expensive.
Buy a portable combustible gas detector; first check that the combustible gases are within acceptable levels, and then turn on the thickness gauge to conduct the measurement. If that’s not allowed, obtain a hot work permit before proceeding with the measurements.
