In safety management, safety documentation, and safety presentations, the safety techniques, procedures, methods, and control measures related to construction projects are often summarized in brief terms known as “safety acronyms.” These acronyms are concise, but they sometimes make it difficult to remember what they specifically refer to. The editor has now compiled and organized the following information for reference by on-site construction safety managers. A concise safety guideline: One machine, one box, one switch, one leakage protector. This refers to the requirements regarding electrical safety for machines and equipment on site: each electrical device should have its own dedicated switch box, which contains a disconnect switch (one switch) and a leakage protector. Three types of control: Refers to the controls implemented during the construction process: pre-control, in-process control, and post-control. The three guarantees refer to the general requirements for construction: ensuring quality, ensuring safety, and ensuring progress. The three safeguards refer to the use and installation of safety helmets, safety belts, and safety nets. The three principles: refer to the three principles in assessment and evaluation work: openness, fairness, and impartiality. Three Orders: Refer to the orders to commence work, suspend work, and resume work that must be issued by the Chief Supervisor after obtaining the owner’s approval. The three parties refer to the \"three parties\" in the project construction management system: the project owner, the contractor, and the supervision unit. Three comprehensives: refers to management involving all employees, in all aspects, and throughout the entire process within the quality, safety, and environmental protection assurance system. Three inspections refer to self-inspection for safety during construction, mutual inspection for safety, handover inspection, or special inspection. Three tasks: These refer to what technical and quality/safety personnel should do during each construction phase – providing safety and technical instructions before work begins, conducting safety inspections and giving guidance during work, and carrying out safety reviews and evaluations after work is completed. Three talks: Refers to the three safety discussions during the construction process: before starting work, discussions on safety precautions ; During construction, emphasize key points of safe operation ; After work, discuss today’s safety situation and lessons learned. The three violations refer to the abbreviation for “illegal command, illegal operation, and violation of labor discipline.” The three networks: namely the telecommunications network, the broadband network, and the television network. Three electrics: namely electricity, telecommunications, and radio and television facilities. Once the relevant certificates are obtained, it is also referred to as the three-certificate system or the integration of the three certificates. Three-standard integration: refers to the unification of policies and objectives ; Integration of management functions ; Integration of system documents ; Process control coordination ; Synchronization of performance monitoring ; Continuous improvement integration, abbreviated as “integration of the three standards”. Integrated triple-certification: Simply put, it refers to the integrated certification of three management systems – quality (QMS), environment (EMS), and occupational health and safety (OHSAS). Three-level safety education: Safety education at three levels—the company, the project management department, and the construction teams. Three-phase five-wire system: refers to a system in which the neutral point is directly grounded and equipped with a dedicated protective neutral wire (known as the TN-S neutral protection system). Three-phase electricity ; Add five wires: the three phase wires of three-phase power (wires A, B, C), and the neutral wire (wire N) ; And the earth wire (PE wire). The three-stage seven-step method refers to the excavation technique for tunnels in soil layers or unstable rock masses, as well as for tunnels with large cross-sections. Four controls: refer to construction quality, safety, progress, and cost control. If we talk about the “five controls,” environmental protection control should be included. Four Ones: Build a project, erect a monument, establish a reputation, and make friends (or foster new trends). Four similarities: It means that for the acceptance of each batch of steel, it should consist of steel with the same grade, the same furnace number, the same specification, and the same condition at the time of delivery. The four principles of not causing harm: do not harm oneself, do not harm others, do not allow others to harm oneself, and protect others from being harmed. The four principles of not letting anything go: These refer to the guidelines for handling safety issues or accidents: 1. Do not move on until the true cause of the accident, that is, the origin point that led to it, has been identified ; 2. The person responsible for the error has not taken action, has not reflected deeply on it, has not learned from it, and will not be let off ; 3. Relevant parties and even all employees fail to receive education or draw lessons from it; no such opportunity is missed ; 4. Five-word safety mantra: Five causes – refers to the five key factors that affect safety: people, machinery, materials, methods, and environment. The five ‘tones’: refers to the requirement that regular employees at the construction site and contractor workers should eat together, live together, work together, study together*, and be managed together. The five certificates refer to the five main documents that construction enterprises must possess: business license, tax registration certificate (for both national and local taxes), organization code certificate (currently, the first three certificates have been merged into one), qualification certificate, and bank account opening permit. Five requirements: The construction site must meet the “five requirements”: Construction areas must be enclosed ; The fences need to be beautified ; Protection must be complete ; Drainage should be orderly ; The cards need to be standardized. The five harms refer to the consequences of accidents: first, it harms individuals; second, it harms families; third, it harms communities; fourth, it harms enterprises; fifth, it harms **. The five key personnel refer to the construction supervisor, quality inspector, safety officer, material handler, and tester or document keeper in a construction team. Five Ones: Safe electricity use requires three-level power distribution (main distribution, distribution, and switch box), with protection at each level. Each electromechanical device must meet the requirements of “one machine, one switch, one leakage protector, one box, and one lock”. Five musts: refer to the requirements for civilized construction at the site: 1. The construction area and the non-construction area must be strictly separated ; 2. Five signs and one diagram: refer to the signs used to indicate a civilized construction site. “Five signs”: Project overview sign, list of management staff and supervision phone number sign, fire safety and security sign, work safety sign, and civilized construction sign ; “\"One diagram\": Plan view of the construction site. Five no-construction principles: These grant authority to front-line workers as follows: 1. Do not proceed with construction until the previous process has been approved ; 2. Do not start construction without proper technical instructions ; 3. Do not proceed with construction if the measurement data has not been verified correctly ; 4. Construction will not proceed if the quality inspection of the materials used is unsatisfactory ; 5. Construction shall not proceed on critical sections without approval. 5W1H: Refers to the activities included in quality system procedures: why (why it is done), what (what needs to be done), where (where it is done), when (when it is done), who (who does it and who checks it), and how (how it is done, based on what principles and using what methods). 5M1E: The production process is influenced by six factors—people, machines, materials, methods, environment, and measurement. Standardizing work entails seeking standardization for these 5M1E elements. Five controls, two management tasks, one coordination function, and one supervision role: these refer to the nine main supervision tasks of the on-site supervision agency. \"Five controls\": quality, safety, schedule, investment, and environmental protection control ; “Two pipes”: contract and information management ; “Coordinate relationships with internal and external parties ; “Urge for civilized construction on site. Seven protections and one assurance: Requirements for winter construction include protection against freezing, electric shock, fire, cold, gas poisoning, casualties, traffic accidents, as well as maintaining warmth. The eight key personnel in construction refer to the eight essential roles in building construction: construction supervisor, material officer, surveyor, tester, document clerk, safety officer, quality inspector, and supervision engineer (supervising engineer). Ten prohibitions on lifting: These are mandatory rules for lifting operations: 1. Do not lift when exceeding the rated load ; 2.
