How to clean the heat exchanger tube bundle? If acid cleaning is used, what type of acid should be employed and how should its concentration be controlled?
Generally, it can be cleaned with a high-pressure water gun by oneself. When using chemical cleaning, it is recommended to hire a professional cleaning company; they will collect samples of the scale and other relevant parameters to determine the formula for the cleaning solution.
It can be roughly divided into three steps: 1. Perform an open-flush using high-pressure water； 2. Acid cleaning: First, let the equipment soaked in the acid solution stand for a while, then subject it to dynamic circulation for a period of time, repeating this process several times back and forth ； (Acid can be a biodegradable biological acid that causes little corrosion to metals.) 3. Alkaline cleaning: after acid cleaning, the heat exchanger is cleaned several times using an alkaline solution in a certain proportion, through dynamic circulation.

Mechanical treatment combined with high-pressure cleaning is still the best option; acid cleaning is extremely labor-intensive, especially when it comes to heat exchangers that have been in use for many years – acid cleaning hardly works in such cases:L
