I recently started learning to use the COADE TANK software, and I found that I’m not very familiar with the data input requirements in many aspects. 1. Regarding seismic data, the software uses values such as S0, S1, Sp, etc.; in China, the relevant values range from 6 to 8 degrees, and I couldn’t find any information on how to convert these values accordingly. 2. As for site categories, China uses classifications from I to IV, while the software uses classifications from A to F; this can be determined using the Vs value from geological surveys. 3. When using this software to calculate parameters for storage tanks in China, it is necessary to enter data related to the Q345R material; I calculated these values based on the yield strength and tensile strength of grade 150 materials. 4. Regarding the welding joint coefficients in the software, the instructions refer to Appendix A, where values of 0.85 or 0.7 are suggested, while 1.0 is used for other cases. However, according to standard 50341, a welding coefficient of 0.85 is applied to the first layer, while 0.9 is used for other layers. . . . . .
