As the usage time increases, the efficiency of ion exchange membranes decreases； The ions in the brine entering the cell exceed the specified limits, contaminating the ion exchange membrane, such as calcium, nickel, and iodine ； The ion membrane has many pinholes ； The cell temperature is controlled too low ； The saltwater concentration is too low; the alkali concentration is either too low or too high ； Organic matter levels in saltwater exceed the specified limits ； Decrease in coating content ； Operational errors can cause negative pressure differences, etc.
The number of start-up and shutdown cycles has the greatest impact; each cycle results in a decrease of around 0.5%, and in cases where protection is inadequate, a decrease of 1% may also occur. In processes that use a secondary brine resin tower, there are generally no issues with the quality of the brine.
