Is it better to use steam or electric heating to heat hydrogen to 150 degrees? Can 1MPa saturated steam be used for this purpose? Thank you!

Hydrogen is an explosive substance; electric heating is not safe, while steam heating is safe and reliable. Steam at 1 MPa has a temperature of 180 degrees, which is sufficient to meet the heating requirements of 150 degrees. Steam can be controlled by the pressure in the steam drum or buffer tank.

There are many such operating conditions; by installing a steam coil with a certain heat exchange area inside the hydrogen buffer tank, it is possible to heat the hydrogen contained within the tank.

It depends on the amount used: electric heating is convenient for small quantities, while steam is cheaper for larger amounts. It’s difficult to generate steam at temperatures above 300 degrees; I use steam with a flow rate of 6 cubic meters per hour at 600°C, powered by electric heating
My unit is small, with a capacity of around 0.5 m3/h. It uses hydrogen gas, at a relatively high pressure of about 7 MPa and a temperature of 150 degrees. I plan to use saturated steam at 1 MPa for heating; I think this is safer than electric heating. What do you think?
