Let me talk about the situation on site. Experienced colleagues, please help me out; those who work in this field can also get in touch with me. One of the more serious storage tanks, with a capacity of 10,000 cubic meters, has been in use for about ten years. Over the past three years, the mixers have broken down, and there are no conditions to repair them while the tank is empty; as a result, a large amount of sediment has accumulated. The tank has large maintenance access holes, and the heater can be removed, as long as it isn’t crushed by debris.

Our tank has a capacity of 1,500 cubic meters, with residues amounting to about 250 cubic meters. A cofferdam is built outside the manhole; the manhole is then opened slowly, and the residues are removed promptly to ensure that they do not overflow. The residues are processed along with coal. (It is best to carry out this cleanup when the temperature is below 20°C, as otherwise the residues become too liquid.)
