I have a gentle question: what are circulating water supply and circulating water return? . . Under what circumstances is it generally used?

The water that enters the cooler is called circulating water inlet, while the water that exits the cooler is called circulating water outlet. The return water refers to the cooling tower in the recirculating water plant. The common methods for cooling materials include heat exchange, air cooling, and circulating water cooling. When a temperature of below 40 or around 40 is required, circulating water cooling is usually used in the final stage of cooling. If further cryogenic cooling is required, a refrigerant such as liquid ammonia is needed.

There are also cases where the pressure is similar but the temperature is opposite; for example, the low-temperature chilled brine used for chlorine liquefaction and ammonia liquefaction. This type of circulating water is used to remove heat from the equipment, not to add heat.
