The core technology of Shenwu Environmental Protection at present is the \"new acetylene chemical process.\" This process is based on the \"new regenerative calcium carbide production process,\" and uses powdered medium- and low-grade coal along with powdered lime as raw materials. While producing low-cost acetylene, it also generates large amounts of low-cost syngas (hydrogen and carbon monoxide), synthetic oil, synthetic natural gas, etc. This enables the large-scale and efficient production of important energy and chemical products such as olefins, gasoline and diesel, methanol, natural gas, ethylene glycol, and aromatics. The new process offers advantages such as a short production cycle, low investment costs, high energy conversion efficiency, reduced pollutant emissions, and low product costs. The first commercial project was awarded to Inner Mongolia Port Yuanhua Chemical Co., Ltd.; Shenwu Environmental Protection invested over 160 million yuan in this project. By adopting the contract energy management model and utilizing new technologies, the existing traditional calcium carbide furnace production lines were upgraded to reduce energy consumption, with annual energy savings of around 75 million yuan. The operational data from the Inner Mongolia Port Yuan Chemical Industry Demonstration Project show that, compared with traditional processes, the new process results in a 22% reduction in overall energy consumption, a 16.7% reduction in electrical energy usage, and a 24.3% reduction in costs. The specific figures are as follows: for one ton of calcium carbide, there is a savings of 179 yuan in raw materials, 183 yuan in lime, 122 yuan in electricity consumption, 6 yuan in electrolytic arc energy, an increase of 23 yuan in auxiliary materials, and a savings of 105 yuan in by-products. The total savings amount to 572 yuan. Judging from Shenwu Environmental Protection’s promotional materials, costs have indeed been reduced significantly.
