The shutdown was carried out to replace the high-pressure heat exchanger in the hydrorefining reaction system, which consists of welded pipelines. It is necessary to use fire to cut the pipeline. What protective measures should be taken for the reaction system?
A temporary blind plate is used, with a small hole made in it; nitrogen is introduced through this hole to maintain a slight positive pressure inside the pipeline.
During the shutdown, the hot hydrogen carrying oil is completely burned off, and alkali washing is carried out after the shutdown.
Drain all the oil completely, rinse with fresh water using the drainage pipe, and then purge with nitrogen continuously!
Blind plates are installed at the inlet and outlet, and cold hydrogen is used to replenish nitrogen in order to maintain positive pressure in the system. If the blind plate is not installed properly, the temperature in the air bed layer rises very quickly. On the other side of the blind flange, connected to the heat exchanger, should be a pressure gauge, protected by nitrogen via rubber tubing.
