I would like to ask everyone: which type of valve is generally used for pipes carrying ethylene oxide – gate valves, globe valves, or ball valves? Or can any of them be used? Some sources state that ball valves cannot be used; I’d like to know the reason. Thank you! !
I don’t think so; I’ve been using stainless steel ball valves for several years now. Where did you find such a requirement?
The literature is probably referring to carbon steel valves, right? Any stainless steel valve should work, I guess

The valve selection is based on the properties of ethylene oxide as a medium: it is flammable and explosive, toxic and carcinogenic, and prone to polymerization. Therefore, good sealing of the valve stem is required, ideally at ISO 15848-1 Class A standard; It is required that the valve mechanism have no cavities to resolve the polymerization issue. The double-eccentric C-type ball valve is highly suitable for this application.
